Climbing & Climbers

Climbing is an activity, in which you use all parts of your body, your muscles, your hands and legs in particular in order to ascend anything steep or even overhanging. You can climb trees, structures, buildings, towers and a lot more. In Climbing world, however, I will write about (as some call it) the extreme sport climbing. Accordingly, I will forget about the trees and towers, and will consider some slightly more interesting objects, which you can climb. What I have in mind is climbing rocks, ice and, sometimes, on artificial walls.

For climbers climbing is not just an ordinary activity, but a way of life. What I mean is that climbers have a specific behaviour. In order for one to be a climber it is not enough simply to walk on rocks or train hard. They have to dress and talk like one. Not only that, but they need to buy climbing equipment, which is really expensive.

It should be noted about climbing that it may be difficult or very difficult. A friend of mine says: ‘s not easy dude. So if you want to progress you have to train hard. For this reason climbers visit the local artificial wall every day and train a muerte there.

It is mandatory to mention the extremely fanatical kind of athlete climber – the gym rat. This representative of the climbers’ family shows miraculous strength in the gym. He can do at least fifteen times chin-ups with each hand. The most difficult boulder movements are no problem for him, but all this is happening only on the artificial wall. The gym rat generally doesn’t climb rocks. However, it is possible that a very stubborn friend might convince the gym rat to go climbing together. As soon as the gym rat is in the climbing sector, he begins to murmur, his strength seems to have disappeared. He can’t ascend any route, he gets bored and says he will not go rock climbing ever again.

There is also a small climbing community, which has a much more reasonable understanding of the concept of training: The best train for climbing is to go to the pub, drink 5 quarts of beer, and talk about climbing.
